Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing
Course Description: If you are looking to start a career in the Fitness industry, then this is the course for you. This entry level qualification will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to work with gym members to help them achieve their fitness goals. You will learn how to plan safe and effective gym based exercise sessions, demonstrate how to use a range of cardiovascular and resistance machines, free weights and body weight exercises.
You will learn: There are 5 units that will be covered within the course:
- Principles of anatomy, physiology and fitness
- Professionalism and customer care for fitness instructors
- Health and safety in the fitness environment
- Conducting client consultations to support positive behaviour change
- Planning and instructing gym-based exercise
Pre-requisites: As this is an entry level qualification no previous experience or qualification is required. However, some experience of gym-based exercises, including free weights, is highly recommended.
The course requires physical exertion, and individual participation is essential; therefore, a degree of
physical fitness is necessary. There is an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) involved and learners should have basic skills in communication pitched at level 2.
Format: The course will be taught and assessed over six days, 9.30am – 4.30pm on each day. You will be required to complete some home study. Assessment will take place over a weekend following the course.
Assessment: You will be required to complete:
- Coursework/Project.
- Multiple Choice Examination.
- Portfolio of Evidence.
- Practical Demonstration/Assignment.
Certification: Upon successful completion of the course you will be awarded the Active IQ Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instruction which is a nationally recognised and CIMSPA approved qualification.
Career Progression: Upon successful completion you can enlist as a fully qualified Gym Instructor and begin work in this capacity.
Attaining the Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification is a stepping stone on the way to becoming a Level 3 Personal Trainer with further training. It is also a pre-requisite for many fitness based workshops and courses e.g. indoor cycling, circuits.
Cost: The total cost is £595. To secure your space, all we require is a minimum deposit £245. We understand that this is a big investment and are happy to set up an easy payment plan to spread the cost of your fees. You can also pay by Credit Card if this helps. Please don't be too shy to ask!

Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training
Course Description: This qualification will provide you with the skills, knowledge and ability to work unsupervised as a Personal Trainer enabling you to progress your career in the fitness industry or to run your own successful business as a Personal Trainer.
You will learn how to assess fitness, nutrition and lifestyle habits and then plan and deliver 1-2-1 personal training sessions in a motivating, fun and innovative way that is specific to your client.
You will learn: There are 6 units that will be covered within the course:
- Applied anatomy and physiology for exercise, health and fitness
- The principles of nutrition and their application to exercise and health
- Understanding lifestyle, health, wellbeing and common medical conditions
- Encouraging positive health and fitness behaviours in clients
- Programme design and delivery for personal training
- Professionalism and business acumen for personal trainers
Pre-requisites:
- All candidates must have a suitable Level 2 qualification in Gym Instructing.
- The course requires physical exertion and individual participation is essential, therefore a degree of physical fitness is necessary.
- There is an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) and application of numbers involved, and learners should have basic skills in communication and application of numbers at Level 2/3.
Format: The course will be taught over 4 weekends. Timings will be 9am – 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays. You will be required to complete some home study.
Assessment: You will be required to complete:
- Coursework/Project.
- Multiple Choice Examination.
- Portfolio of Evidence.
- Practical Demonstration/Assignment.
Certification: Upon successful completion of the course you will be awarded the Active IQ Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training which is a nationally recognised and CIMSPA approved qualification.
Career Progression: Successful completion of the course will enable you to enlist as a fully qualified Personal Trainer. This will allow you to work unsupervised as a Personal Trainer within a Health and Fitness club or to start your own business in Personal Training.
It also allows you to progress to further qualifications in areas such as outdoor fitness, sports conditioning, sports massage, exercise referral, and business skills for fitness professionals.
Cost: The total cost is £1495.00. All we require to reserve you a place is a deposit of £250. We appreciate that this is a considerable investment however we are confident that after you have completed your training you will soon be able to start working with clients and reaping the rewards. We are also happy to help you spread the cost of your course fees with an easy payment plan. Please don't be too shy to ask!

Level 2 Indoor Cycling
Course Description: Our group indoor cycling course will provide you with the skills needed to plan and deliver varied, fun and effective indoor cycling classes.
You will learn: You will learn the training methods and riding techniques, class structure, adaptations and progressions, as well as planning to assess and minimise risk.
There are 2 units that will be covered within the course:
- Planning a Studio Cycling Session
- Instructing a Studio Cycling Session
Pre-requisites:
- A suitable Level 2 Fitness Instructing qualification, e.g. Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing (QCF) Gym or Exercise To Music.
- Some experience of studio cycling is useful.
- The course requires physical exertion and individual participation is essential; therefore, a degree of physical fitness is necessary.
- There is also an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) involved and Learners should have basic skills in communication.
Format: The course will be taught over 2 days.Â
Assessment: You will be required to complete:
- Coursework
- Practical Demonstration
Certification: Upon successful completion of the course you will be awarded the Active IQ Level 2 Award in Instructing Studio Cycling.
Career Progression: Successful completion of the course will enable you to instruct indoor cycling fitness classes.

First Aid at Work Qualification
Course Description: This course covers a wide range of CPR and First Aid skills. It’s aimed at those who would like to become a qualified First Aider within their workplace, however it is also suitable for those who would like to learn lifesaving and first aid skills. This is a practical course which is fully compliant with the guidelines set out by the HSE for employers on selecting a training provider.
You will learn: This qualification is made up of the following units:
- Emergency First Aid in the Workplace
- Recognition and Management of Illness and Injury in the workplace
On the course you will learn about the role and responsibilities of a first aider, how to assess an incident, how to manage casualties who are unconscious, including CPR and AED for those not breathing normally, how to manage bleeding, burns and scalds, fractures and injuries as well as how to recognise and manage a casualty suffering from a major illness e.g. Asthma attack, Seizures.
Pre-requisites: Candidates must be 16 years of age at the time of taking the assessment.
Format: The course will be taught over 3 days. Timings will be 9.30am – 4.30pm on all days.
Assessment: First Aid at Work is Trainer Assessed throughout the course and the assessment will determine a learner’s ability to act safely, promptly and effectively when an emergency occurs at work and to deal with a casualty. Assessments will be in the form of questions and practical demonstration.
Certification: This course will provide the learner with a recognised IQL Level 3 First Aid at Work qualification, which is accredited by Ofqual. The award is valid for three years as of the date of assessment.
Career Progression: Successful completion of the course will enable you to act as a First Aider within your workplace.
Cost: £250 or £225 for 91¿´Æ¬ Staff, Student or Gym Member.

First Aid at Work (Requalification)
Course Description: This course covers a wide range of CPR and First Aid skills. It’s aimed at those who would like to become a qualified First Aider within their workplace, however it is also suitable for those who would like to learn lifesaving and first aid skills. This is a practical course which is fully compliant with the guidelines set out by the HSE for employers on selecting a training provider
You will learn: This qualification is made up of the following units:
- Emergency First Aid in the Workplace
- Recognition and Management of Illness and Injury in the workplace
- Anaphylaxis Management
On the course you will learn about the role and responsibilities of a first aider, how to assess an incident, how to manage casualties who are unconscious, including CPR and Automated External Defibrillator for those not breathing normally, how to manage bleeding, burns and scalds, fractures and injuries as well as how to recognise and manage a casualty suffering from a major illness e.g. Asthma attack, Seizures.
Pre-requisites: This 2-day First Aid at Work course is for those who currently hold a First Aid at Work qualification that is due to expire. You can attend the course up to 28 days from the expiry date of your current certificate. Please note that you must have a copy of your original certificate.
Format: The course will be taught over 2 days. Timings will be 9.30am – 4.30pm on all days.
Assessment: First Aid at Work is Trainer Assessed throughout the course and the assessment will determine a learner’s ability to act safely, promptly and effectively when an emergency occurs at work and to deal with a casualty. Assessments will be in the form of written multiple choice questions and practical demonstration.
Certification: This course will provide the learner with a recognised IQL Level 3 First Aid at Work qualification, which is accredited by Ofqual. The award is valid for three years as of the date of assessment.
Career Progression: Successful completion of the course will enable you to act as a First Aider within your workplace.
Cost: £185 or £175 for 91¿´Æ¬ Staff, Student or Gym Member.

Emergency First Aid at Work Qualification
Course Description: This one-day course covers a range of CPR and first aid skills, providing you with the skills to ensure a safe working environment. The qualification is Ofqual accredited and valid for three years, making it suitable for all industries and enabling you to meet HSE requirements. This course is also suitable for those who would like to learn lifesaving and first aid skills.
You will learn: This qualification is made up of the following units:
- Emergency First Aid in the Workplace
A range of subjects are covered including:
- Understanding the role and responsibilities of a first aider
- How to manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally
- How to manage a casualty who is in shock
- How to assess an incident
- How to recognise and assist a casualty who is choking
- How to manage a casualty with a minor injury
- How to manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally
- How to manage a casualty with external bleeding
Pre-requisites: Candidates must be 16 years of age at the time of taking the assessment.
Format: The course will be taught over 1 day. Timings will be 9am – 5pm.
Assessment: Emergency First Aid at Work is Trainer Assessed throughout the course and the assessment will determine a learner’s ability to act safely, promptly and effectively when an emergency occurs at work and to deal with a casualty. Assessments will be in the form of a multiple choice question paper and practical demonstration.
Certification: This course will provide the learner with a recognised IQL Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work qualification, which is accredited by Ofqual. The award is valid for three years as of the date of assessment.
Career Progression: Successful completion of the course will enable you to act as an Emergency First Aider within your workplace.
Cost: £100 or £80 for 91¿´Æ¬ Staff, Student or Gym Member.
