Dr Rhonda Archibald is a registered public health nutritionist and Lecturer in Public Health Nutrition within the DNBS division.
Rhonda graduated from the University of Glasgow with a BSc (hons) degree in Neuroscience in 2001, then completing a MSc in Public Health Nutrition at 91¿´Æ¬ in 2002. After graduating, Rhonda worked in a community health development role supporting community health led activism.
Rhonda subsequently worked in a Public Health Nutritionist in a Health Improvement leadership role with NHS Lothian and moved to NHS Forth Valley in 2018 where she still leads the Public Health Nutrition team, and related food and nutrition workstreams and action plans three days per week.
Rhonda has worked as a visiting lecturer and MSc placement supervisor for several years; she completed a Professional Doctorate in Health and Social Sciences in 2017 and took up the post of lecturer in Public Health Nutrition in 2020, recently completing a PGCert HE teaching qualification. Rhonda teaches on a variety of nutrition and public health topics.

Rhonda’s primary research interests lie in the area of in public health nutrition, in particular understanding experiences, attitudes and system levers that can mitigate or reduce diet related inequalities in health.
Rhonda has previously carried out research relating to handedness and quality of life, breakfast and cognitive function, complementary feeding practices, and more recently has been working on a Chief Scientist Office Research Grant Partnership Project with disadvantaged communities to design and test a novel, evidence-informed and community-based intervention to address and promote healthy weight and wellbeing.
Rhonda has been involved in a range of needs assessment and evaluation service improvement projects.
