My podiatry journey has developed through both the public and private sector. I have worked in different health board areas in Scotland.
During my last role in NHS I worked within the MSK specialist team at the Southeast Scottish Mobility and Rehabilitation Technology (SMART) centre. I collaborated closely with various specialist areas such as Orthopaedic foot and ankle, Paediatrics, Orthotics, Prosthetists as well as technical services.
Working at the SMART centre allowed me to develop manufacturing skills and advanced diagnostic investigation skills further to that available within the standard Podiatry clinic. During this time I was able to enter a term of development within Orthopaedic foot and ankle.
Further to this I worked within the community podiatry team on Digital improvement practices as part of a project with National Education Scotland (NES). On completion of this I became a affiliate member of the digital leadership program (DLP). Now I regularly contribute to the ongoing delivery of the DLP program for future cohorts.
In addition to these areas I managed a high risk foot wound caseload in the community setting working closely with the specialist high risk foot clinic and vascular departments respectively.
Within the private sector I was heavily involved with MSK and sport podiatry. I have delivered running gait analysis and running retraining/rehabilitation to many athletes across the years. This has allowed me to indulge a area of interest within clinical biomechanics.
Now my main area of interest in Paediatric Biomechanics and MSK therapies. Working closely with paediatric patients has become a real passion and challenge within my carer. This is a underrepresented area within Podiatry that I aim to address during my time at 91心頭.

Staffordshire University Clinical Biomechanics Student (currently studying towards masters), currently at PGcert in clinical biomechanics level.
Active research interests include:
- Paediatric diagnostic techniques and therapies
- Developmental biomechanics
- Midfoot biomechanics with a particular interest in the midfoot break
- Injuries of the athletic population, both adult and developmental
- Digital innovation and leadership
- Handheld dynamometry for ankle plantarflexion and dorsiflexion
I teach on the clinical specific modules at 91心頭. This includes Podiatry practice which covers the introductory clinical standards, techniques and theory for entering clinical practice.
I teach in the MSK clinic with the level 3 and 4 students and the nail surgery module for level 3 and 4 students. I contribute to the biomechanics teaching that is delivered to our students. I teach the principles of orthotic design and manufacture.
Further to these areas I deliver as part of a wider team to the Masters level students.
