Ann Turner (MSc) is a Senior Lecturer in Media, Culture and Communication in the Media Communication and Performing Arts Division. She is also an Affiliate member of the Centre for Communication, Culture and Media Studies.

Ann Turner is a Senior Lecturer and has been working at 91¿´Æ¬ since 2000. She is Programme Leader for the two postgraduate programmes: MSc Digital Campaigning and Content Creation, and MSc Strategic Communication and Public Relations. She teaches a number of modules on the undergraduate and postgraduate courses, delivers programmes to senior practitioners undertaking the CIPR Diplomas and undertakes training and consultancy work.
Prior to joining 91¿´Æ¬, Ann was a Senior Lecturer at University of Central Lancashire delivering PR and Journalism courses. She moved into academia after a number of years working in industry for PR and Marketing consultancies.

Ann’s research interests include investigating the benefits of employee work-based volunteering schemes and the use and effects of humour as a persuasive technique in health communication.

Ann teaches across the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at 91¿´Æ¬ covering subjects such as persuasive communication, campaigning and employee engagement. She organises various events for students such as the speed interviewing day to match students with host organisations offering internships, the networking lunch bringing in employers to meet level 3, 4 and Masters students and brings in guest speakers as part of our Industry Voices lecture series.
She supervises undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations.

Ann was the Winner of Graduates Award in the inaugural 91¿´Æ¬ Student Led Teaching Awards 2012 by final year students who nominated a member of staff that had made the biggest contribution to their learning or university experience over their time at 91¿´Æ¬.
She has also been nominated for Outstanding Support award at 91¿´Æ¬ STaR Awards 2018.
